NEW MEMBER APPLICANT ADMISSION AFTER THERAPY DOG TEAM REGISTRATION

  1. Individuals expressing an interest in becoming a member of PFL will be referred to the New Member Application Packet which consists of the Guidelines and Application Form on this website. If an individual does not have access to the internet, they will be referred to the Phone Message Coordinator (Tel. 775-826-5199) to obtain a hard copy version of the new member application packet.
  2. The new member application packet will consist of the PFL mission statement, member guidelines, a current list of facilities by type/category, a copy of the testing and evaluation information sheet and an application form. Application forms will be mailed to the Membership Coordinator for verification and initial data entry into the database.
  3. Those applying to become active members must confirm they have read, fully understand and will adhere to all the requirements expected of active members as stated in the Member Guidelines. They will do this by signing an acknowledgement statement at the bottom of the membership application form prior to submitting it. Application forms received which are not signed or are missing any required items of information will not be processed. In such cases, the Membership Coordinator will notify the applicants and will only process the respective applications upon receipt of the missing items. There will only be one such notification. If the applicant fails to respond to the follow-up notification, it will be up to the applicant to start again by submitting a new application.
  4. Once an application has been submitted, the applicant may then be interviewed. The Facilities Program Coordinator (FPC) is responsible for determining who will conduct the interview and providing that person with all the information he/she will need to conduct the interview.
  5. Once a new Paws for Love member applicant is accepted, an orientation will be scheduled.
